We all need lead abatement training now?

What is really reduce lead? And what is this new lead safety certification? There are a lot of rumors out there about lead reduction and lead safety certification and it is sometimes difficult to sort out the facts. EPA training program manager, HUD program manager and principal instructor, as well as a project manager for housing rehab and protective measures for one of the largest cities of New England, lead I'm able, clarify some of the secrets and confusion behind these questions.

First means not lead reduction that the lead is really gone. Lead reduction means that lead either removed risks or were handled in a safe manner for at least 20 years. If you remove a door with lead paint painted and you dispose of it, then paint the door through a new door without lead replace, have slowed down the lead in the door. But you can also lead into the door abandonment, by having it with special color, a 20-year warranty. If the lead in a Baseboard is, cover it with Luan (glued and screwed), cap it with a piece of the quarter round or other molding the openings for sealing, and you have the leaded motherboard abated, although it is still there.

These are the foundations, but there are other requirements involved, depending on the State and there are controls required to ensure that you meet the reduction norm. That's not what the new of lead safety, however. In fact, it has the new rule, nothing to do with reduction. Confused? You are not alone.

The truth is to remove innovator (abate) constantly from their normal work lead, as they remodel old houses, and they will continue. They are not licensed lead abatement contractor, and they don't have to, as long as their intention is to transform and you terminate not themselves as Abaters or de-leaders. The EIA new rules to make sure that if you paint in the lead run on your renovation, you recognize and handle it safely. We have learned that, if you disturb (sand, scrape, destroy, aggressive washing) older color, you are releasing bits of poisonous dust into the air. This lead dust will cause learning disabilities, brain disorders and other long-term neurological problems in children - and hypertension, headaches, memory loss, sexual dysfunction, joint pain and many other symptoms in adults.

The new leadership safety rules and RRP is not about lead reduction rule from EPA and HUD. But it's about doing the work you already in a safe manner. This RRP rule is the law, and the penalties are steep for him to ignore.
